Pair Comparisons for a Job Evaluation

There are several methods for conducting a job evaluation. A job evaluation can be very important for an organization because it can show the job hierarchy and levels of seniority. In addition, the job evaluation can help provide fair wages as an employee with more seniority should get a higher pay than an employee who is lower in the hierarchy.

The job ranking method is the most simplet way to do a job evaluation. However, a subset method of the job ranking method is the pair comparison method. This method takes a pair of two jobs and analyses them in depth to see which one is higher up in seniority. This is similar to the job ranking method, but the pair comparison is more rigorous as pairs must be analysed together.
